Alpine multi-pitch lengths in all levels of difficulty and many bouldering problems at the head of the Almtal are waiting to challenge climbers of all skill levels.

 

For sure-footed climbers, who prefer to show strong arms on a steel cable instead of rocks,have several via ferratas to climb that promise astonishing moments.

Welser Hütte can be reached by taxi or bus from the Hochberghaus. Joyful ridge via ferrata on one of the greats in the Toten Gebirge.

Bert-Rinesch via ferrata on the Großer Priel

For early risers and very motivated people, a trip to the Bert-Rinesch via ferrata is definitely worth the effort.

Even on the long ascent, a good portion of stamina is required, for the via ferrata you should pack rations, as the alpine descent requires endurance and concentration.

From the rear Almseeparkplatz towards the end of the valley Röll there are 3 narrow, steep gorges, the Scherenschlucht, the Zigzagschlucht and the Jakobiner-Schlucht hidden behind. All are perfect for bouldering, while the small waterfalls invite you to cool off.
